    Sterile Water: Accessories research guide

In short: USP-grade sterile water for single-use peptide reconstitution. It is studied in preclinical (cell and animal) research and is supplied strictly for laboratory use, not for human or clinical use.

Not medical advice. Sterile Water is a research compound. This guide does not provide dosing, diagnosis, therapy recommendations, or claims about effects in humans.

    What Sterile Water is

Sterile Water is listed in our catalogue under “Accessories.” In scientific publications it is discussed in technical language; this page translates the general themes into everyday wording while staying faithful to research-only framing.

One-paragraph overview from our research datasheet. Still scientific, but faster to read than the full mechanism list below.

USP-grade sterile water for single-use peptide reconstitution.

    Research contexts

Peer-reviewed papers discuss Sterile Water in specific lab settings. The points below reflect research questions, not health claims.

Research vs. personal use: Literature describes experiments in cells and animals. That is distinct from real-world use. Our products are for laboratory research only.

    Typical study contexts

  • Dilution, reconstitution stability and sterility support data for safe handling.
  • USP-grade sterile water, no preservatives.
  • Suitable when benzyl alcohol must be avoided.
  • Single-dose reconstitution.
  • Compatible with all lyophilised peptides.
  • Why Accessories research matters

These items support lab handling (reconstitution and dilution) rather than peptide pharmacology itself.

    Mechanisms (technical review)

Our datasheet lists mechanistic themes from preclinical work. These are research endpoints, not health claims.

  • Common Questions People Are Asking

What is sterile water for injection?

Sterile water for injection (WFI) is purified, preservative-free water produced to USP standards for parenteral use. In peptide research it serves as a reconstitution solvent, dissolving a lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptide cake back into a usable solution. It contains nothing but water — no preservative, no salts, no buffer.

What is the difference between sterile water and bacteriostatic water?

Both are sterile at manufacture, but bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, while sterile water contains no preservative at all. The preservative is what lets bacteriostatic water be drawn from repeatedly over a 28-day window; sterile water has nothing to inhibit microbial growth once opened, so it is single-use.

Is sterile water single-use or multi-use?

Single-use. With no preservative, there is no protection against contamination after the vial is punctured, so any portion not used during a single reconstitution is discarded. If you need to draw from one diluent vial across several sessions, bacteriostatic water is the multi-dose option instead.

How much sterile water do I use to reconstitute a peptide vial?

Typically 1-2 mL per peptide vial, with the exact amount set by the target concentration. Concentration in mg/mL equals the vial mass in mg divided by the millilitres of water added — e.g. a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL. Calculate the volume in advance for the protocol you are following.

When would I choose sterile water over bacteriostatic water?

Sterile water is chosen when a preservative-free diluent is preferred — for instance when benzyl alcohol could interfere with a peptide or a specific research endpoint, or when the full reconstituted volume will be used at once. For routine multi-dose research vials, bacteriostatic water is usually more convenient because of its 28-day opened shelf life.

How should sterile water be stored?

Keep sealed vials at room temperature and protect from light; do not freeze. Because it is preservative-free, discard any unused portion of an opened vial rather than saving it, and do not use a vial whose solution looks cloudy or contains particulates. Supplied as a research reconstitution solvent only.

Is this page medical advice? Can I use Sterile Water for my health?

No, and no. This article is educational only. We do not provide dosing, medical recommendations, or health claims. Our products are sold strictly for laboratory research, not for personal use of any kind.

Where do I find Sterile Water specs, purity certificates and pricing?

Open the shop listing via “View product details.” There you will see batch specs, the Certificate of Analysis (COA), concentration, purity grade, and available SKUs with current pricing.
